Latest Bone Mask not Layerable?

This is the green Bone Mask, that came in the latest donation item switch.

Tried using a Hat & Mask Layer Deed on it, but got the message "you must select a hat object".

I'm sure I saw someone with a different coloured Bone Mask that was layered (he was wearing a leather cap or a helmet and it looked bloody cool), so I ask if this is intentional.

Would love to know if Bone Masks are supposed to be not considered a mask

Try layering the other item you are going to be wearing on top of it. Then put that item on first, and then bone mask, or vice versa.

Nah, can't layer armour. Plus it would be under the mask then (earrings slot), and I want the layered item to be blessed.

I think by default the bone masks are considered armour (bone helmet) and need to be changed.

Page. Must be done by staff. Just do them a favor and make things simpler for them by placing deed and mask in your pack when you page!
