Just curious about a few things

Hello everyone, I am new to UO all together and started playing the EA version of UO, then I kept seeing people saying that EA made it worse as time went on.

What I am curious about is why UOF is so much better than UO?

Does UOF have all the content from the olden days that makes it so good from what I hear?

Also how many people are typically playing?

EDIT: and if anyone could help me out with the game, like show me the ropes that would be awesome

UOF returns UO to what it once was - a beautiful, lawless paradise. Over time the expansions have progressively softened and watered-down everything to the point where UO became just another carebear MMO, by which time the original players had all left and new players didn't see the point of playing when everything that the game offered (PvE, crafting and "organised PvP") could be found in other, newer games. Basically, this is classic, hardcore UO, but with new content which is updated fairly regularly. You will get robbed, scammed and murdered on a daily basis, which is what UO is all about.

Yup, and the corollary is that you are free to rob scam murder and steal as well!

'Classic' UO is all about conflict and player driven solutions.

Someone is farming in your favorite spot? Murder them.

Someone murdered you? Murder them back. Can't? Get some friends and you can all murder him/her together! Maybe they will bring some friends too and you can all murder each other!

Sick of murderers? Join an anti-PK guild.

Or just chop wood, mine ingots, RP a drunken Orc, whatever floats your boat :)

Or in my case today, have someone come up to you buttering you up with "nice dragon" as you are killing a paragon titan and then precasting an ebolt (as if that is going to do shit) while trying to ninja the paragon chest if it drops...
